A Method for Integrating Bibliographic Data from OAI-PMH Data Providers

The data providers based on OAI-PMH protocol disseminates their metadata by providing a syntactic interoperability between them. However, these data providers do not provide the digital documents in PDF format corresponding to their research articles. In this paper, we introduce a method for integrating research articles in PDF format with their corresponding bibliographic metadata extracted from OAI-PMH data providers. In addition, we carry out a prototype based on wrappers to extract, store and link, research articles in PDF format with their corresponding bibliographic metadata in a database. The results obtained through a use case, show the applicability of the proposed approach.
