Ball Tracking and Action Recognition of Soccer Players in TV Broadcast Videos

In this thesis, we investigate techniques for detection and tracking of the ball and the detection of the players in digital video frames of soccer games. Novel resampling approaches are proposed in tracking with smart filtering techniques for small and single target tracking in team sports. Extraction of ball actions are studied with new measures defined. The developed algorithms are integrated to ASPOGAMO Web Based Soccer Analysis System.
