Marcello Visconti, Curtis R. Cook · 1993
This paper discusses relevant issues of software process models assessment and validation. It takes a detailed look at different approaches (SEI, ISO-9000, others) for sofrware process assessments and improvement, and addresses the main issues on software model validation. First, it addresses relevant issues regarding sofrware process assessment: the SEI software process assessment procedure, the ISO-9000 standard, and some variations of them as software process improvement tools. Then, it concentrates on validation of software models, discusses the SEI approach to validate its model, and describe other validation experience. Keywords: software process assessment, validation
