Color segmentation for scene exploration

In this contribution we describe the results of the color structure code algorithm and a modified split and merge algorithm, which both segment a color image into regions. We integrate these algorithms into our system for knowledge–based image analysis and compare the two distinct methods concerning their applicability in our system for knowledge-based exploration of a scene. 1
