Bitcoins" in this article will be used to refer to the Bitcoin network and concept exclusively; "bitcoins" refers to an actual unit of the Bitcoin exchange; "Coins" (with a capital "C") refers to Bitcoins and its derivative virtual currency, including Dogecoins, Flexcoins, etc.When I refer to Bitcoins, I mean the specific algorithms and processes by which this virtual currency is used.When I refer to the concept in general, I will use the more generic phrase "virtual currency," although some in the tech community use the expression "digital currency" to denote the same concept.2.
