Multi-point velocity measurements are made on a plane wall jet with hot-wire rake probes. Coherent structures in the y-and z-direction are investigated in terms of the proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) in spatial domain and the orthogonal wavelet transform in temporal domain. This velocity field is efficiently captured by a few POD modes, and there is a peak of the wavelet spectrum of the random coefficient. A large scale structure is identified as most dominant one, which is over the whole layer normal to the wall and extends to a width of 2.5 y_ in the spanwise direction. A time scale of this structure is 50-100 ms.
