Model-based Requirements Engineering for Multifunctional Systems

Multifunctional systems offer a variety of different functions to their environment, which may affect each other in certain situations. We propose a requirements engineering methodology for multifunctional systems that supports the specification of function dependencies based on system modes and captures them as models. We motivate our contributions by an empirical investigation of function dependencies in two industrial systems and assess our methodology in four case studies.
