3730 Improvement of coaching methods for playing the cello by sound information : Difference of sound characteristics between beginner and professional

We have investigated the difference of cello-sound characteristics between beginner and professional. Beginners and professionals played cello in semi-anechoic chamber, and then two kinds of sound were recorded. These sounds were analyzed by wavelet transform. It was clarified that the main difference between two sounds are the characteristics of beginning of bowing. Furthermore, we carried out the principal component analysis of two sounds. Beginner-sound and professional-sound was able to be divided by a principal component score.
