The data throughput of Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) acc. IEEE 802.11g and Bluetooth systems has been measured in practical and interfering environments. The interference sources were a microwave oven, a signal generator and a cell phone, and of course the systems itself: WLAN as interference source for Bluetooth and reverse. The reference environment was a shielded anechoic chamber while a reverberation chamber was used to simulate highly reflecting environments. Furthermore measurements in an office have been performed. The data throughput of both systems, WLAN and Bluetooth, was decreased considerably, depending of the kind of interference.
