Recursive blind equalization based on cyclostationarity and structured kernels
Jacob H. Gunther · 1998
This work considers the problem of blind equalization of multiple co-channel digital communication signals. The cyclostationarity of the signals is exploited in the development of a recursive equalizer which overcomes the principle limitations of the batch processing cyclostationary based blind equalizer. Additionally, when the co-channel signals are encoded prior to transmission, the code structure can be used to aid the blind equalizer. In the second part of this work, kernel structure theory is introduced as a tool that can be used in blind equalization as well as serve as a tool to understand and derive algorithms which appear in a number of other fields in engineering, science, and mathematics. Using a novel formulation, kernel structure theory is applied to the blind equalization problem.
