Adaptive mesh method with Cartesian grids is developed for incompressible flows under the conditon that the coupled algorithm will be popular for massive parallel computing or special processor of LSI. There are 2-D and 3-D simulation of flows around circular cylinder. It is found that the results with this Cartesian method agree with those of standard curvilinear grid systems in the overall performance such as lift, drag and Strohal number.
