Supporting multi-bit simultaneous query in wireless networks with coherent analog bloom filter
Zhenghao Zhang · 2017
In this paper, a novel multi-bit simultaneous query technique, called the Coherent Analog Bloom Filter (CABF), is proposed for wireless networks. CABF allows the Access Point (AP) of the network to gather multiple bits of key information from nodes in the network simultaneously, such as the identities of the active nodes and the data packet sizes. With CABF, the nodes transmit signals on selected subcarriers in two consecutive OFDM symbols without the requirement for coordination among the nodes. The AP runs a detection algorithm to extract information by checking the energy level and phases of the signals. As CABF requires only two OFDM symbols, it does not introduce much overhead to the network. With extensive simulations, it was shown that CABF outperforms the existing solutions.
