A Report on the Distribution of Phonetic Renderings in Loanwords

The paper analyses the distribution of counts of phonetic renderings in 25 adaptations of loanwords from three methodologically different datasets, and concludes that all are consistent with the Zipf–Alekseev distribution. In addition, an intriguing correlation between the coefficients is observed.
