Data gathering by leveraging Sink's mobility in large-scale Wireless Sensor Networks (wsns) has drawn substantial interest in recent years. Challenge is to collect data in wsns through optimized network performance. Current researchers focus on how to minimize the energy of sensor nodes to help improve the lifetime of the node. Identifying mobile sink's moving trajectory in advance is cumbersome process in large scale WSN. We formulate a new technique — mobisink that uses Intelligent Mobility Pattern based Routing Protocol (IMPR) for efficient data collection. IMPR protocol proactively identifies trajectories based on convergent locations. Convergent location is the predominant geographical area where the sink receives the highest response from the sensor nodes. Unique aspects that distinguish the proposed approach from previous ones: 1) mobisink's — Trajectory uniqueness, enabled through convergent locations 2) Efficient Data Gathering — Success rate in data collection is enhanced through IMPR protocol. Several design factors were considered and systematically analyzed in the proposed work. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the overheads and yield satisfactory performance in identifying effective routing paths for efficient data gathering in WSN.
