DATA SCIENTISTS: A STUDY ON SKILLS AND FORMATION

This paper presents the results of a research that had as objective to raise aspects related to the skills and formation of Data Scientists, professionals who, in the Big Data /Analytics environment, are perhaps the most important in the process of transforming data into information and knowledge. It intends to provide subsidies to those involved with the subject, both in the university environment and in the business environment. The aspects that were studied were those related to the skills needed for a professional in the area, being presented according to the way they are acquired, through formal education and professional experience and those of an attitudinal nature.
