A General Method of Generating Cyclic Codes

A general method of generating cyclic codes with the aid of Karnaugh maps is described. It has been used in designing a cyclic coded rotor position transducer. By transposition or inversion of transducer signals, different rotor position settings and directions of rotation are possible without actually repositioning the transducer.
