Synthesis of heuristic control strategies for liquid level control in spherical tank

In this work, a PI controller is synthesized and the closed-loop information is used for designing Fuzzy logic controller. An intelligent heuristic controller, PI-Fuzzy with an Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Interface System (ANFIS) model is proposed for the control of liquid level in a spherical tank at different operating points. Performance of this controller is compared with other controllers like ANN, Fuzzy logic, dynamic matrix controllers. The PI-Fuzzy controller based on ANFIS model is found to produce better results than other controllers with less overshoot and error performance. The closed-loop system is simulated and implemented in real time. Results suggest that PI-Fuzzy (with ANFIS model) controller is suitable for liquid level control in spherical dynamics.
