Motion detection typically is the case for applications using a fixed camera such as video surveillance applications or traffic monitoring applications. This research directed to detect a movement within a single scene and build a new background based on the correlation method. The recorded footages scenes (vehicle and human) were outdoor at different day times using a fixed camera. The suggested algorithms proved it is effective to extract and detect a moving object within video frames. Moreover, the suggested algorithms show stability at different environments like shadow, sun light angle and daytime. The proposed study gives less error ratio depending on mean square different and builds a background using 8 frames only comparing with other studies.
