Autonomic Internet of Things is the creation of self-management capability in the Internet of Things system by embedding certain properties, in order to free human from all detail of the operation and management of the system while providing the system to always operate on the best performance. Some of these properties are self-healing, self-configuring, self-optimization and self-protection which are taken from the properties of autonomic computing. For this purpose, many algorithms have been proposed. However, Internet of Things networks face the challenge of resource constraint which limits the use of processing power, memory and energy. Therefore, the implementation of the algorithms should put the complexity analysis into consideration. This paper proposed a practical approach for the complexity analysis of the algorithm that is implemented in the network communication protocol for the autonomic Internet of Things. The area of each autonomic property in the network protocol is identified and the complexity of the algorithm is mapped. As the result, a mathematical model is presented, which is useful to observe the complexity of the autonomic properties implementation.
