The Probability of Winning in McDonald's Star Raiders™ Contest

During a recent promotion, McDonald's Restaurants sponsored a contest known as “Star Raiders.” The rules were quite simple, and possible prizes ranged from a free hamburger to a free home computer. After becoming familiar with the game, we decided to analyze the probability of winning.
