Automating execution of web services for ontology based information integration

Boštjan Grašič, Vili Podgorelec · Computational intelligence · 2009

Integration is becoming one of the key problems in modern information system engineering. Integrational challenges are arising in many different aspects, be it interapplication integration inside a closed system, like an organization, or intraorganisation integration, where the main objective is to connect isolated information system in order to ensure interoperability. With the rise of the Internet, there is even more stress on relying on information sources outside the borders of a single information system. Service oriented architecture is mostly seen as an answer to these challenges. However, service invocation automation has not been addressed sufficiently. This paper proposes a method for automated execution of Web Services, which enables dynamic and transparent information integration in the context of ontology based information integration. Key–Words: automated service execution, web services, soa, information integration
