The late Evan Parry
EH Hitchcock · New Zealand Engineering · 1964
At the N.Z. Institution of Engineers' jubilee conference in February 1964, R. S. Maunder (who was president of the Institution for 1954-5) announced the gift to the Institution of the sum of 1,000 pounds to establish an annual award for the best paper submitted, during the previous five years, on an electrical engineering project. Mr Maunder desired the new award to be known as the Evan Parry Award in memory of a former chief electrical engineer of the Public Works Department. In the following article E. Hitchcock (who was president of the Institution for 1940-1) gives some of his memories of the late Evan Parry.
