On generating of relations

Given a family of relations JL{, indexed by a set I and a relation t on I one can form a new relation % (r, R4, ) induced by K4, and t .(If t is an ordering then HI (x f Ki ) is the lexico-graphic product of R-i, •) The question is studied how many Ri are necessary to generate a given relation X. .This is related to preference-relations in psychology.
