ANALISIS DATA TIME SERIES (EL NINO dan SUNSPOT) BERBASIS WAKTU-FREKUENSI

Time-frequency analysis of the data equatorial Pacific sea surface temperature (El Ni??o index) and sunspot from 1951 to 2013 was performed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Morlet Wavelet Transform (MWT) methods. Both methods are implemented through the Windows-based software that MATLAB v.10 (R2010a).The results obtained indicate that FFT method only be able to provide information in the a major period of the time series data, while MWT in addition to the major period can also reveal information that period of time occurrence. MWT method was shown that localized wavelet power spectrum in locally and globally. Also, these results indicate that MWT provided more information that may be used in the periodicity analysis and prediction of time series data
