Distance learning is essential for students in remote areas. According to some investigations, there are more and more students taking online courses using smart phones. Nevertheless, there is a risk of privacy violation, if the distance learning system is not properly designed. In this paper, we design a privacy preserving scheme for distant learning, in which students use smart phones to access online courses and materials. We use ARM TrustZone technology to store the sensitive data and we adopt strong cryptographic tools in designing our scheme. Our analysis and evaluation demonstrate that our scheme is indeed privacy preserving with high efficiency.
