The lipiodol angiography is the most reliable method for diagnosis of liver cancer. However, this method limits the effective usage of the ultrasonic measurements for detection of cancers, and thus when the spherical laser coagulation therapy is employed, locations of cancer and major vessels have to be measured by the other methods. To overcome these problems, we developed the computer aided three dimensional medical image reconstructing system which can display anatomical informations at any angle and cross-section intraoperatively. With this system simulation of laser prove access to the targeted position could be achieved. Usage of the digitalized image data also give the quantitative evaluation of volume irradiated as well as whole liver volume.
