Abstract. Remote Usability Testing (RUT) is an alternative method of usability evaluations. The main aim of RUT is the reduction of costs in the usability evaluation process. Since middle of the 90s RUT, has emerged as a technique which seems as is gaining maturity across the time. In general any discipline or professional field matures along the time using in this process among other, a Body of Knowledge (BOK) to represent all the elements or knowledge connected with it. It is possible to find different perspectives about the structure of these BOKs. This paper describes how the Remote Usability Testing Body of Knowledge (RUTBoK) was builded. The result of this process is a new structure for the BoK for RUT, several topics and others elements. An overview of the RUTBoK is also described in this paper. Build a RUTBoK is interesting because this is a good moment to analyze if RUT is mature enough in order to permit to develop of a BoK. First step in the process was to define a search criteria in order to establish which publications could be part of the RUTBoK. Next, a method was developed in order to identify the structure and topics that can be part of the RUTBoK. The result is a draft version of a guide to access the main concepts of RUT. This guide can be used as a general reference of RUT. Among other aspects, this guide is formed for 6 Knowledge Areas (KA) which include several topics. The result of this work seems to suggest that is possible to define a RUTBoK considering the maturity level gained for RUT.
