Ezt Rakd Ki: A Hungarian Tangram.

The Hungarians seem to have a special genius for inventing intricate and challenging puzzles Rubik's cube is merely the best known and for devising more engaging and extending versions of standard puzzles. At ICMI 6 in Budapest in 1988 various mathematical games and puzzles were on sale. There were sets of dominoes with faces having zero to nine spots, a 3-d 'four in a row puzzle' that would serve well to introduce 3-d coordinates, various rotational puzzles whose transformations form a group, and many others too! Amongst them was 'E&t Rakd Ki'. It is made by POLITOYS and is a more subtle version of a tangram puzzle. The name, according to my best information, literally means 'put it out' ie put the pieces in the right places to make the required design. The puzzle came in a shallow plastic tray together with a booklet of 100 designs to be made and no answers given! It consists of the following rectangle of pieces:
