A Proactive Dynamic Reverse Engineering Approach

Evolutionary processes depend solely on the confidence of making new design decisions. This depends on the accuracy of architecture analysis. Reverse engineering can provide robustness to software evolution process by systematising the analysis to guide design decisions making. This paper aims at utilizing automata models in dynamic reverse engineering leading to the level of architectural analysis with a method that addresses three key solutions at software industry. (1) Incept evolutionary processes without losing time on nonexecutable source code, (2) determine architecture properties based on automata models and concepts to provide a theoretical foundation for reverse engineering and (3) guide architects to be confident in making design decisions.
