Development of Remote Operation System for Boat using Long-range Wi-Fi

Since remotely operated unmanned vessels are useful for oceanographic survey, the development of remotely operated unmanned vessels is delayed. One of factors is the communication problem. A bit rate of the current maritime communication using the satellite is about several hundred kbps. This bit rate is insufficient for the remote operation. In order to solve this problem, the usage of a long-range Wi-Fi communication is proposed.
