The development of the Internet of things(IoT) put forward the requirement for the materials unique identification, in order to promote the interconnection between Internet of things systems, the visualization in the whole process of materials management and the sharing for Internet of things information. It establishes a materials identification system structural framework by materials identification code(MID), data identifying(DI), management system, query and analysis service, regulations and standards, etc. And analyze the operation mechanism of materials identification system.
