Indoor Navigation using Communication Type Active Marker

Takashi ASAKAWA · The Proceedings of JSME annual Conference on Robotics and Mechatronics (Robomec) · 2016

We propose the indoor navigation system which used the communicated type active marker for wheelchair guidance. The markers are arranged on the surface of a wall on a passage. Pictures of marker are taken by the wheelchair's camera, and it guides by image recognition. The marker blinks by the command from the wheelchair using a Ir-LED. This blink state is analyzed as difference pictures. In the experiment, the target marker has been recognized in the accuracy of 0.25 or less degree by image recognition processing. Moreover, we considered to improve the marker for the pedestrian. This method has an advantage also the image recognition from the wheelchair.
