Fault Diagnosis has been one of the most critical technologies for reliable network-on-chip(NoC). In this paper, a fault diagnosis method using packet tracing is proposed to locate the high-level faults on NoC. First, the nodes on the diagonal endpoints send and receive packets from each other to cover all of the high-level faults. Second, fault dictionary is established through preorder traversal the paths among that nodes. Third, a matching algorithm is proposed to locate NoC faults with the fault dictionary and the packet set collected from the nodes. Experimental results show that it locates all of the faults on NOC but without any intrusive circuits.
