Summary Wavelet estimation of seismic data is a significant section in the processing of seismic data deconvolution, inversion and forward modeling. In recent years, high-order spectra have been developed rapidly, because the minimum phase hypothesis of the traditional wavelet extraction method is completely abandoned. However, the reliability of the higher-order spectra (HOS) matching method strongly depends on the amount of available data. And it still has the problem of phase wrap and noise. The method described in this paper uses the trispectrum of the data and a 3D window function on fourth-order cumulants to estimate the HOS from the field records accurately and efficiently without a large amount of available data. Synthetic data and real data examples demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm. We present results obtained on real data and compare them with the results of traditional estimated wavelets method using well-logs.
