High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), the latest video standard, provides new algorithmic features that are substantial advances over those in previous standards in order to optimize the coding efficiency. HEVC performs with a high data compression ratio at the same level of video quality when compared to its predecessors, or substantially improved video quality at the same bitrate and it supports resolutions up to 8192×4320. In this work, we release a profiling of reference software of HEVC on Zynq platform under the embedded Linux, to give an indication of the more complex functionalities and aspects of this standard, using the different configuration files provided by the JCT-VC community.
