Due to the explosive growth of the mobile devices and development of the network technologies, HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) adaptive streaming has become a new trend in video delivery to provide efficient multimedia streaming services. Another important development has been the increased level of personalization on the Web. Interactive multimedia services have also increased interest to contents providers and viewers for personalized media services. The interactive multimedia presents new challenges for HTTP adaptive streaming. In HTTP adaptive streaming, switching delay and video stalling has been observed while the client streams the interactive multimedia. It decreases the user QoE (Quality of Experience). In this paper, we propose a context-aware prefetching scheme based on HTTP adaptive streaming for interactive multimedia services to provide the seamless playback. We design the architecture and prefetching scheme for interactive multimedia streaming. Using the simulation, we prove that our scheme significantly reduces the playback discontinuity and improves the average quality level.
