Translating IOPT Petri net models into PLC ladder diagrams

We present a set of rules allowing the translation of IOPT Petri net models into IEC 61131-3 Ladder diagram amenable to be deployed into industrial PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), as well as other automation systems. An application example is used to illustrate the development flow as well as the effectiveness of the approach.
