Review of design for security techniques: Advancement and challenges
Md. Imran Khan, Md. Ahasan Kabir · 2017
From design specification to IC fabrication, there are many steps which allow adversary to insert hardware Trojan to disable or destroy the original design, leak secret information or functional modification. Design for Security (DFS) technique is an essential issue to a designer for hardware trustworthiness as it prevents any change of the original design. Efficient DFS technique should have several properties; otherwise it can't assure full protection. In this study, various DFS techniques are analyzed to find their robustness against hardware Trojan and their limitations. Future challenges for designing efficient protection scheme are also focused in this paper.
