Software Development Life Cycle

Ken Lunn · 2003

Large IT projects are complicated, and even small ones are more complex than at first you might think. It is hard for the novice to understand this complexity. Writing a simple program as an exercise for a programming class seems difficult enough. When the messiness and obscurity of a business have to be taken into consideration, when there are dozens of conflicting opinions, and when the size of the development requires tens or hundreds of people to contribute over a number of months or years, then the whole task of producing a working system can seem unbearably difficult. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
