Design, develop and teach the second web programming course in computer science curriculum

In current Computer Science curriculum, teaching web programming courses has become a consensus. Web programming involves many web technologies. How to design and integrate these technologies into web programming courses is still a challenging task for web programming instructors in computer science program. Many universities have been offering one web programming course as an elective in their computer science curriculum. This paper presents our strategies and experiences to teach the second web programming course in CS curriculum. We answered some questions regarding what topics and technologies should be involved, what textbooks might be chosen, what programming environment needs to be set up to support the course, and what assignments and projects could be assigned for students. This paper intends to share some useful information and experience for other instructors teaching the second web programming course in Computer Science curriculum.
