ADON - Anonymous data exchange in hybrid opportunistic networks using utility functions and bloom filters

Rafał Skowroński · 2017

The flow of information among people through electronic devices has undeniably become an important aspect of many human lives. The importance of the Internet has grown in time to settle on almost even grounds with electricity. Here, we present a novel hybrid approach to opportunistic wireless networking. The main objective of our work was to propose a system with a feature-set attractive for real life deployment. In order to achieve that - we extract features from known routing mechanisms; combine them with relatively novel (Anonymous Multi-receiver ID-based Encryption, AES) cryptography. We propose a semi-distributed three-tier architecture, in which, data flows in an opportunistic manner, but is also allowed to flow through the Internet connection (TCP/IP), if available. The results allow for authentication, perfect forward secrecy and non-repudiability in a disruptive environment.
