This paper presents a runtime reconfigurable interface for Hardware-Software Co-Simulations. We present our research project for autonomously configuring smart home networks, in which our hardware-software co-simulation is used to simulate network sensor and actuator nodes in an early development stage. The improved architecture of our connection between the SystemC hardware simulator and the virtual machine QEMU, to build the hardware-software co-simulation, is presented. We developed our adaptive simulated time synchronization interface, which keeps QEMU and the hardware simulator SystemC synchronized. We present the runtime low-latency reconfigurability of it, to adapt to frequent changes of loose and tight synchronization timing requirements.
