Software Component's Measurable Features in the FSSM

Jasveer Singh · 2017

The Software's Measurable Component 'Functional Data' (CFD), 'Functionality Execution' (CFE), 'User Interface' (CUI), and 'Message Exchange' (CME) comprise several Software Component's Measurable Features (SCMFs) that need to be measured for complete software measurement. This chapter describes these SCMFs. All the 4 SCMFs of the Software's Measurable CFD contribute to the effort spent in the software development. They are derived mainly from the Logical Data Model (LDM) description part of the Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS). The measurements of the SCMFs, that is, the Software Component's Features Measurements (SCFMs) are used for the complete software size measurements in the FSSM. The SCFMs are the basis for the calculations of the Software Component's Measurements (SCMs), Software Size and Effort Estimations (SSEEs), and Software Performance Quality Indicators (SPQIs) of both the types Software Structural Indicators (SSIs) and Software Operational Indicators (SOIs).
