Software's Measurable Components in the FSSM
Jasveer Singh · 2017
Software comprises four Software's Measurable Components (SMCs) corresponding to the four parts namely Logical Data Model (LDM), Functionality Execution description (CFE), User Interface description (CUI), and Message Exchange description (CME) of the Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) document. This chapter discusses the description of these SMCs in details. The SMCs contain the Functional Data which are used and are operated upon by the functionality; functionality operations and data handling during these operations; user interfaces/screens for the input/output communications; and notifying messages for communications with the other programs, respectively. All the SMCs comprise several Software Component's Measurable Features (SCMFs) that need to be measured for complete software measurement. The presence and size of the SMCs depend on the Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) of the applications. There is no restriction on the size of the SMCs which are present.
