Convertibility and ISO/IEC Standards Compliance of the FSSM

Jasveer Singh · 2017

In the FSSM, 31 Software Component's Measurable Features (SCMFs) of the 4 Software's Measurable Components are measured. Out of these 31 SCMFs, there are 4 SCMFs the measurement of which are equivalent to the 4 measurements performed in the COSMIC methodology. This chapter tabulates these 4 measurements of the COSMIC methodology and their equivalent SCMFs, Software Component's Feature Measurements, and Software Component's Feature Point Counts (SCFPCs) in the FSSM. In order to convert the counts of the FSSM to the counts of COSMIC, the following SCFPCs need to be taken from the FSSM: Software Component's Feature Point Count for Data Input, Software Component's Feature Point Count for Data Output, Software Component's Feature Point Count for Data Read, and Software Component's Feature Point Count for Data Write, and they need to be substituted for the following corresponding counts of COSMIC, respectively: Entry and Exit. The FSSM is fully compliant with the ISO/IEC 14143-1 standards.
