Known Limitations, Improvement Scope, and Conclusion

Jasveer Singh · 2017

This chapter presents the known limitations of and improvement possibilities in the FSSM, and the conclusion The FSSM has many conspicuous, significant, and useful advantages for the Functional Size Measurement of the software, especially in comparison to the currently available software size measurement methodologies. It covers all the important constituents of the software for counting and is therefore very elaborate and comprehensive as it considers and takes into account all the relevant and essential software's measurable components and all the software component's measurable features. The FSSM is fully compliant with the ISO/IEC 14143-1 standards. The FSSM is applicable only for the software projects for which high-level languages are used. Dynamic characteristics determination in the FSSM has a few assumptions attached with it. Two possible improvements about the calculations of the physical database size and usage frequency of the Data Collections are suggested.
