In most of the systems, data collection is one of the major tasks to be carried out. The way of data collection can be automatic or manual. Adversity is the main cause that in many systems, manual intervention is not possible. So, opting for automated way isn't such bad idea. Depending upon the way of communication, wired or wireless, data can be collected through either wired or wireless networks. Wired networks have some limitations when considered for flexibility, mobility, etc. In this regard, wireless networks are more advantageous as they have better compatibility, they are flexible and are growing in demand. Wireless sensor networks, use smart sensors which act in collaborative manner to accomplish the given task. Wireless Sensor Actor Networks (WSANs) form a topology and if there is any failure occurring, topology repair algorithms act as recovery tool. This paper presents idea of preventing a node from failure by applying cluster head rotation methodology (K-means Algorithm) and if failure happens then the recovery schemes like Distributed Actor Recovery Algorithm (DARA) and Least Disruptive topology Repair (LeDiR) algorithm will act as a tool to recovery. The objective is to maintain the topology almost identical to pre-failure state of the network. The comparative study of the DARA and LeDiR will show how the later one is having upper hand over the earlier.
