Mathematics for Physical Science
A. D. C. Grassie · Physics Bulletin · 1969
B. G. Aldridge London: Prentice-Hall . 1968 Pp. vi + 137. Price 18s. 6d. (paper) It is possibly misleading to review this book in isolation from the other eight texts in the Merrill Physical Science Series which cover a range of subjects from mechanics, electricity and electromagnetic fields to geology, meteorology and oceanography. The book represents the mathematical needs of the other texts in which the criterion for the use of mathematical reasoning is that it should be used "only when the sciences are made more (not less) understandable for the nonscience major".
