Static electrification London, May 1967
Joseph Latham · Physics Bulletin · 1967
A conference organized by the Static Electrification Group of the Institute and Society was held at the Institution of Electrical Engineers, London, from 8–10 May 1967. Electrical phenomena involving solids, liquids and gases were discussed, together with industrial problems and applications. The boundaries of the subject of static electricity are extremely broad and diffuse, embracing solids, liquids and gases, involving surface and volume effects and suffering from a legacy of imperfectly understood classical investigations which are explicable only in terms of modern theories of the properties of materials.
