Rob Tidrow, Jim Boyce, Jeffrey R. Shapiro · 2017
Windows 10 includes native features for virtualizing the user's desktop using the Windows 10 hypervisor (Hyper-V) features. This chapter introduces the following points: understanding Hyper-V in enterprises; migrating virtual machines (VMs); upgrading VMs; understanding Hyper-V checkpoints; exporting VMs; and importing VMs. VMs are one way administrators have found to become more adept at Windows 10 features, application enrichments, device driver issues, and other elements of the operating system. User can migrate a VM from one host to another. This makes it convenient for testing operating systems, applications, and other issues. To migrate a VM from one host to another, user uses the Export Virtual Machine command and Import Virtual Machine wizard. Sometimes user need to upgrade the Hyper-V VM configurations to the latest version. This way, user's VMs can take advantage of new features released during the upgrade.
